Hawke’s Bay Tourism has launched Bay to Remember, a summer campaign inviting visitors and locals to share their favourite moments from around the region.
The campaign encourages people to post photos using the hashtag #baytoremember. If the social media account is public, images feed directly into a live online Memory Board on the hawkesbaynz website.
Participants can also enter the draw to win the Ultimate Bay to Remember Experience, valued at $5,000. The campaign and competition run until Tuesday, March 31, 2026.
Large-scale photo frames have been installed at key visitor locations, encouraging people to stop, snap and share their Bay memories. The frames are located at Par 2 on Napier’s Marine Parade, Pourerere Beach in Central Hawke’s Bay, and Splash Planet in Hastings.
A number of tourism operators are also taking part, displaying portable frames at their sites and encouraging visitors to capture and share their experiences.
Throughout summer, the Hawke’s Bay Tourism team will activate the campaign at major regional events including The Mockers, The Dudes & Stellar, Bridge Pa Wine Festival, Outfield Festival, Carl Cox, Art Deco Festival and the Meatball Festival.
In January, the Memory Board will extend beyond digital channels to a digital display billboard at Hawke’s Bay Airport, showcasing visitor images to arriving travellers.
Hawke’s Bay Tourism chief executive Hamish Saxton says the campaign highlights the region through the eyes of those who experience it.
“Hawke’s Bay is a place where memories naturally happen, from beach days and vineyard sunsets to family cycling adventures, great food and long summer evenings,” says Hamish.
“Bay to Remember celebrates those moments and helps us share them with the world. By encouraging visitors and locals to capture and post their experiences, we’re creating a collective story of summer in Hawke’s Bay while generating authentic content that inspires future travel.”
The Bay to Remember competition is open now. To enter, participants can visit the hawkesbaynz website and describe their ultimate Bay to Remember experience. Posts using #baytoremember from public accounts will automatically appear on the Memory Board.
