International Media Marketplace (IMM) will land in New Zealand for the very first time as part of TRENZ 2026 – a move being welcomed as a major win for New Zealand tourism.
The one-day event, run in partnership with TravMedia, will take place on May 18 and bring 30 leading international media into direct contact with New Zealand tourism operators. It’s a rare chance for local businesses to put their stories, products and strengths in front of leading global outlets.
A TIA spokesperson says, “IMM’s inclusion within the TRENZ 2026 programme represents a significant boost for New Zealand’s tourism industry, offering operators a powerful platform to profile the depth and quality of the visitor experience on a global stage. By enabling direct engagement with leading international media, IMM will help amplify the unique stories of Aotearoa’s regions and operators, strengthening awareness and demand in key markets.”
The event is supported by Air New Zealand, Tourism New Zealand and Tātaki Auckland Unlimited, whose support has helped secure IMM’s debut appearance in New Zealand.
IMM is open only to registered TRENZ sellers, adding to the urgency as seller registrations close next Thursday, November 20 and with limited spaces available, a waitlist is likely.
TRENZ returns to Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland May 19–21 2026 after nearly a decade away. For operators, a quarter of 2025’s sellers is expected to generate more than $250k in turnover from their attendance.
