O&JOE Auckland has officially opened its doors, marking a milestone as the global hybrid hospitality brand makes its Asia Pacific debut in the heart of Auckland’s CBD.
Located on Fort Street, the 293-bed property redefines the boundaries between hotel, hostel, and local hangout with its signature “open house” concept — designed for travellers and locals alike.
“Everyone is welcome at JO&JOE,” says JO&JOE Auckland general manager Kristen Pirie.
“We’ve created an inclusive place that combines the comfort of a hotel with the social atmosphere of a hostel — a space where travellers and locals can connect, share stories and enjoy the vibe over a drink in our buzzing rooftop bar.”
The new property features 75 rooms ranging from shared dormitories to private ensuite doubles, including female-only and male-only dorm options. Rates start from $65 per night, offering affordable stays in the city centre.
Guests can relax in The Happy House communal lounge, check in via a self-service lobby bar, or unwind in the rooftop restaurant and bar, which offers woodfired pizzas, loaded fries, tap beers and cocktails with city views. The rooftop will host weekly DJ sets and live music, creating a vibrant hub for guests and locals.
JO&JOE Auckland is part of Accor’s lifestyle collective Ennismore, the world’s fastest-growing lifestyle hospitality group, and is owned by New Zealand-based CP Group, one of the country’s largest private hotel investors and developers.
The property joins ten existing JO&JOE locations worldwide, including Paris, Vienna, Rome, Rio de Janeiro, and three in China.
Centrally located near Auckland’s waterfront, ferry terminal, Britomart train station, and Sky Tower, the property blends the energy of city life with the relaxed rhythm of the coast — reflecting the brand’s philosophy of “living life to the fullest”.
