Queenstown-based premium travel company Alpine Luxury Tours has expanded operations into Ōtautahi Christchurch, marking a major milestone in its South Island growth strategy.
Founded more than a decade ago by director Lee Saunders, Alpine Luxury Tours is known for its private scenic tours, heli-adventures and bespoke experiences showcasing the landscapes of Queenstown and Fiordland. The expansion brings the company’s signature luxury touring style to Canterbury and beyond.
Lee says the move will extend world-class touring experiences to a new region while maintaining the company’s focus on personal service, safety and authenticity.
“We’ve worked hard over the years to set the benchmark for high-end, personalised touring in the South Island,” says Lee. “Christchurch is a vibrant urban hub with unforgettable locations on its doorstep. From the city we can explore the Southern Alps, rugged South Island coastline and unique cultural landmarks, all with the same level of luxury and attention to detail our guests have come to expect.”
The new Christchurch base has employed four local staff and will support a range of new touring options, including:
- Private day tours through Canterbury, Akaroa, Arthur’s Pass, Kaikōura and Nelson
- Multi-day itineraries connecting Queenstown, Aoraki Mount Cook, Christchurch and the upper South Island
- Partnerships with local activity operators, wineries and luxury accommodation providers
Lee says the company’s expansion is part of a broader plan to grow its presence across New Zealand.
“This expansion is just the beginning,” he says. “The demand for meaningful, luxury travel experiences is stronger than ever, and we’re proud to deliver those with the personal touch that defines everything we do. With the recent addition of industry professional Linda McIntosh as business development manager, we’re confident this growth will continue.”
