Egis, a leading global architectural, consulting, construction engineering, operations and mobility services firm, has been appointed to lead the charge on the Wānaka Airpoprt review.
With a global portfolio managing more than 20 airports and a strong New Zealand-based advisory team, Egis brings proven expertise in aviation infrastructure, operational planning, and stakeholder/community engagement.
The Wānaka Airport Future Review will provide scenarios to guide future development, investment, and economic growth. At the core of Egis’s approach is a strong focus on community and stakeholder engagement to ensure the plan reflects local and regional priorities and long-term commercial sustainability.
“Wānaka Airport is a critical economic and infrastructure asset for the region — supporting more than 11 businesses and approximately 250 jobs,” says Egis ANZ aviation executive Kerr Forbes.
“It plays a central role in connecting Wānaka on the South Island to the rest of New Zealand and the world. We are proud to bring our global aviation expertise and local insight to shape the airport’s future in close partnership with the community.
“Egis has designed and delivered some of the world’s most complex and innovative projects in airports, air traffic management and airspace. Our clients benefit from tried and tested, agile methodology that helps them implement objectives faster and with better cost control. We’re pleased to be part of this important initiative and are looking forward to a successful collaboration.”
The initial programme and approach will be formally presented to the Queenstown Lakes District Council and the Wānaka-Upper Clutha Community Board this month.
