TIA has announced its launch of the Women in Tourism Career Accelerator, a professional development programme tailored for wāhine in the tourism industry aimed to equip women with the skills, connections, and confidence necessary to advance their careers.
With a focus on supporting an inclusive environment, TIA is excited to offer three fully paid scholarships, valued at $499 each, to deserving women eager to seize this opportunity.
TIA says “This is one of the first programmes that has been developed specifically for women in the tourism industry, with a toolkit designed to meet our unique industry needs. With the programme aiming to nurture career progression and ensure women have the tools they need to thrive in leadership roles, we believe this will help to grow and enable the flow of talent into quality tourism job.”
The programme includes three expert-led courses: “The Art of Self-Leadership” by Kylie Ruwhiu-Karawana, “The Power of Networking and Connection” by Lou Baddiley, and “Crafting your Personal Brand” by Michelle Caldwell. Participants will also benefit from a three-month Powrsuit membership, which includes 15-minute masterclasses, micro-networking opportunities, peer coaching, and expert interviews.
TIA says “Since we launched the programme with Grow Tourism and Powrsuit last month, we have seen huge interest from our industry which speaks volumes to the need for tailored development tools built specifically for women. We have been blown away by the number of entries received to win one of three scholarships for the programme that we are giving away – with over 50 deserving wāhine nominated in just the last couple of weeks.”
Nominations for this special opportunity close Friday, April 11 with winners announced April 17.
