Global travel platform, Nexus DMC, has opened new global headquarters in Melbourne, servicing inbound and outbound travel for all Western markets.
Nexus DMC’s expansion into Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific will allow travel professionals to elevate their level of customer service and enjoy a streamlined client booking process.
With its dedicated application of AI, Nexus DMC is at the forefront of revolutionising the travel industry globally by allowing even the most complicated itineraries to be executed and booked with unprecedented ease and efficiency.
With its ‘One World, One DMC’ approach, the company has simplified holiday planning and travel experiences across 110 countries and more than 1700 cities worldwide.
Nexus’ move into the Pacific follows a lucrative US$50 million in Series A investment secured by Nexus DMC parent company, ORN Ventures, from a prominent Indian corporate technology and investment group. The investment gives the company an initial valuation of US$500m.
The Australian office announcement also comes with the appointment of Sahil Nijhawan as CEO for the Pacific region. Sahil is a seasoned travel entrepreneur with more than 20 years’ experience in corporate travel, travel technology, leisure and wholesale travel.
“We’re connecting global wholesalers to agents under one roof, creating a seamless ecosystem that benefits everyone involved while removing exorbitant fees and eliminating pain points travel agents usually face when working with multiple suppliers and juggling various payment terms,” Sahil says.
“Our expansion into Australia and New Zealand brings our innovative platform to a market that’s hungry for efficient, cost-effective travel solutions and reinforces our commitment to becoming the world’s largest vacation business,” says ORN Ventures founder and group CEO Vinay Gupta.
“The founders are experts at making the complex simple,” says ORN Ventures advisory board member and former CEO of Tourism Australia, Andrew McEvoy.
“They are digital natives that use machine learning techniques to create perfect trips, tailored for customers by trusted agents.
“Nexus DMC allows agents to be genuine global experts, putting together compelling itineraries rapidly and affordably while reducing their cost of sale and improving margins.
“Together with Nexus DMC’s global network of destination management offices, they continue to look after the customer throughout the trip itself,” Andrew says.
The Melbourne office will handle all inbound travel generated to Australia and the Pacific region and be ORN Ventures’ global headquarters for all western markets.
