For Kiwi travellers eyeing an adventurous holiday abroad, LA’s new and revamped attractions are set to elevate any trip to the City of Angels.
“Kiwi travellers are often drawn to a mix of unique cultural experiences, outdoor adventure, quality dining, and iconic attractions,” says LA Tourism director of international PR and communications Jennifer Tong.
“With all the recent developments, now, more than ever, is the perfect time to visit the City of Angels. LA is an ever-evolving destination, and the spotlight is shining brighter as the city experiences a renaissance in attractions, art, and culture.”
Here’s a glimpse of some of the new offerings in LA, catering to travellers looking for luxury stays, immersive art, and iconic nightlife:
W Hotel Hollywood
The W Hotel in Hollywood has undergone an extensive renovation, presenting an elevated lifestyle experience with 319 chic rooms, including 39 suites. With postcard-worthy views of the Hollywood sign, the reimagined rooftop WET Deck, and two destination bars, Sunrise and Sunset, it’s the perfect spot to unwind and capture the essence of LA glamour.
Burton House Beverly Hills
This all-suite hotel is a Tribute Portfolio property, bringing contemporary style to Beverly Hills. The Burton House opened in May, boasting 193 rooms with separate sleeping and living areas, kitchenettes, and an indoor-outdoor Mediterranean restaurant with a SoCal twist. Every room is beautifully designed to capture the charm of Beverly Hills with luxe touches like jewel-toned accents and leather headboards.
Intuit Dome and Andy’s Jazz & R&B Club
Sports fans can catch the LA Clippers in action at their new home, the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, which opened in August 2024. The venue offers 80,000 square feet of outdoor space, public art, and courts, solidifying Inglewood as a thriving hub for sports and entertainment. Meanwhile, in West Hollywood, Grammy-winning artist Anderson .Paak’s newly opened Andy’s Jazz & R&B Club brings live music, a casual supper menu by Chef Chris Oh, and an electric nightlife vibe to the city.
For art lovers, Southern California’s PST ART event and the opening of NHM Commons at the Natural History Museum add a cultural depth to LA’s offerings. Plus, January brings the 16th anniversary of Dine LA Restaurant Week, showcasing the city’s best culinary talent.
And the best time to visit? “The best time to visit Los Angeles is typically from March to May, and September to November,” says Jennifer.
“During these months, you’ll find the perfect balance of mild-warm weather (16-27°C) without the peak season crowds.”
