A number of new eateries are set to open soon at Christchurch Airport, offering visitors a fresh serving of food and beverage options, featuring flavours from Aotearoa and around the world.
In Domestic Departures there are two eateries with a distinctly Kiwi flavour – Fush and Tātou Tātou.
Operated by Ōtautahi entrepreneurs Anton and Jess Matthews and Māia Gooday, Fush and Tātou Tātou will be cooking up delicious kai for hungry travellers.
With locations in Wigram and Prebbleton, Fush is already known around town for their beautiful fresh flavours. From kaimoana to crispy fried chicken and mouth-watering burgers, there’s something for everyone at Fush.
Tātou Tātou is a whānau-owned catering business, famous for its delectable sweet treats, savouries and sammies.
Anton, Jess and Māia are all well known for their work in the community and championing te reo Māori – along with exceptional hospitality experiences.
In the Level One food court, new foodie hangouts will include The Sushi Platter, Hikari and Mama’s Kitchen.
From classic rolls to creative bites, The Sushi Platter offers authentic Japanese cuisine with a New Zealand twist. Choose from their pick’n’mix or grab’n’go options for a healthy fill-me-up.
Hikari offers a delicious smorgasbord of Japanese cuisine. Think fresh and yummy ramen, udon, teriyaki and donburi. They also do sashimi, bento, salad bowls and noodles.
Experience the vibrant flavours of Korea at Mama’s Kitchen. Dig into crispy fried chicken, tasty dumplings and other street food favourites for an authentic taste of Korea.
Located downstairs at Gates 3-14, there’ll be a new one stop shop for coffee and delicious food and drink.
Urban Pantry offers a range of options to suit every taste. Enjoy expertly crafted barista-made coffee, or choose from their selection of pastries, hearty pies, sandwiches, wraps, healthy salads and quick breakfast options.
Airport chief executive Justin Watson is looking forward to these tasty developments too.
“Last summer season we had 2.7 million passenger movements at Christchurch Airport,” he says.
“We’re on track to top that and it’s awesome to know the terminal will be refreshed and ready to welcome visitors with some of our best manaakitanga and offerings yet.”
