In a celebration of innovation and excellence, the finalists for the 2024 New Zealand Tourism Awards have been revealed.
These New Zealand Tourism Awards highlights the outstanding achievements of both individuals and businesses within the tourism sector, celebrating those who represent the industry’s commitment to excellence.
Tourism Industry Aotearoa (TIA) chief executive Rebecca Ingram highlighted the growing calibre of entries each year, reflecting a collective drive to elevate New Zealand’s tourism offerings.
“Aotearoa New Zealand is a dream destination for travelers worldwide.” “These awards recognize the dedicated individuals and businesses who continually enhance these unforgettable experiences.” she says.
This year, three awards will honour outstanding individual performers, while eleven categories will celebrate business excellence, industry collaboration, and commitment to the Tourism Sustainability Commitment values.
Here are the award categories and finalists:
Wayfinder Community Engagement Award 2024: Christchurch Adventure Park, iFLY Indoor Skydiving, Tohu Experiences, Tūhura Otago Museum.
NZME Visitor Experience Award 2024: Hobbiton Movie Set, New Zealand Trails, Tauhara North Tourism – Te Pā Tū, The Landing.
Tourism Talent Employer of Choice Award 2024: GO Rentals, Hanmer Springs Thermal Pools and Spa, Kohutapu Lodge & Tribal Tours Ltd, Millbrook Resort.
Tourism Excellence Award (Micro Business) 2024: Huka Falls River Cruise, Kohutapu Lodge & Tribal Tours Ltd, Terra and Tide, The Seventh Generation.
Tourism Excellence Award (Small-Medium Business) 2024: Hell’s Gate, Ōpuke Thermal Pools & Spa, Tauhara North Tourism – Te Pā Tū, Ziptrek Ecotours.
Johnston’s Coachlines Tourism Excellence Award (Large Business) 2024: Discover Waitomo, GO Rentals, Hobbiton Movie Set, RealNZ.

The Air New Zealand Supreme Tourism Award will be selected from these ten business award winners and presented at the Gala Dinner.
INDIVIDUAL AWARDS
Auckland Airport Tourism Industry Champion Award 2024: Gavin M. The respected Sir Jack Newman Award for Outstanding Industry Leader will also be awarded at the gala.
The winners will be presented at a gala dinner November 6 at Cordis Auckland, following the Tourism Summit Aotearoa.
