The Restaurant Association is excited to introduce its Leadership Development Days, a series of immersive and transformative full-day training sessions designed to enhance leadership skills within the hospitality industry.
This initiative will feature two of New Zealand’s foremost experts: Krishna Botica, a highly acclaimed restaurateur known for her significant contributions to the restaurant scene, and Marg Main, a renowned hospitality trainer with extensive experience in developing and coaching industry professionals.
These sessions are crafted to provide valuable insights, practical skills, and networking opportunities for both new and seasoned managers in the sector.
“The Leadership Development Days were developed in response to member feedback emphasising the need for industry-led, tailored leadership training,” says Restaurant Association CEO Marisa Bidois.
“This initiative reflects the hospitality industry’s commitment to growing and developing leadership teams with the ultimate goal of retaining well-trained professionals for the long-term benefit of the sector. By providing hands-on, interactive training, these sessions are designed to address the unique challenges faced by hospitality leaders and support their continued growth and success within the industry.”

Each session will run from 9.30am to 4.30pm, with lunch included. Thanks to funding from the Hospitality Training Trust, we are able to offer these sessions at a highly subsidised rate of $150 for Restaurant Association members and $350 for non-members.

Krishna Botica
Krishna Botica is a widely acclaimed restaurateur, celebrated for her commitment to promoting quality and excellence within the hospitality industry. With more than 25 years of experience, Krishna co-owns and operates Comensa, the group company behind three award-winning eateries: Cafe Hanoi, Perch, and Ghost Street. Krishna has earned numerous accolades in the hospitality field and currently serves as the president of the Auckland chapter of the Restaurant Association and national vice president.
Marg Main
Marg Main is the founder of Turning Tables, a hospitality training and coaching business dedicated to helping business owners nationwide retain, develop, and grow their teams.
With more than 30 years of experience in various roles within the hospitality sector, Marg remains passionate about inspiring, educating, and empowering hospitality staff and managers across New Zealand. Known for her engaging facilitation style, Marg brings a fabulous sense of humour and fun to her sessions.
