The ultimate bucket-list skiing destination music festival, Snow Machine, returns this September to the adventure capital of the world: Queenstown. And now, with an even bigger lineup!
From September 3 – 8, 2024, more than 30 local and international artists will join 10,000 snow enthusiasts from all over the world on New Zealand’s South Island.
Choose to adventure by day, skiing or boarding The Remarkables or Coronet Peak, home to four mountain-top après stages, or take the more cultured and relaxed approach at our brand-new arena: The Winery Arena at Ayrburn before dancing the evening away at our Main Arena.
Due to popular demand, organisers say they are thrilled to announce a brand-new day-time winery experience at Ayrburn for those who need a break from the piste for a leisurely day of long lunching, fine wines and even finer music.
The Winery Arena at Ayrburn is one of five après stages at Snow Machine and will be positioned inside Queenstown’s hottest new food and wine playground, Ayrburn, and will feature a bespoke line-up of live performances with a headline act across four days, including Middle Kids, LadyHawke, Drax Project, Teenage Dads, Messie, Groove City, Jimi the Kween and more, plus lots of surprise guests.
The Winery Arena at Ayrburn will also come with its own culinary layer, serving up optional ticketed add-ons including; daily wine and tapas packages, long lunches and a must-do Poof Doof Drag Brunch to add to the itinerary. With buses running to and from Queenstown, access to Ayrburn will be available Wednesday to Friday for free for existing Snow Machine patrons, with a special ticketed event on Saturday, September 8, for existing and new adventurers.
The already huge lineup featuring international names such as Angus & Julia Stone, Matt Corby, Peking Duk, Snakehips, and local talent Lee Mvtthews and more is now minted with the addition of New Zealand native, MESSIE, also known as Tessa Hills, who has seen a meteoric rise and sellout sets internationally following her support tour with mentor and friend, Fred Again.
“It’s been an exciting process bringing together a brand-new stage, tailored with incredible food and beverage experiences, and adding a whole new element to an already jammed-packed adventure festival, and of course, officially announcing that incredible acts like MESSIE will be hitting the decks for the first time at Snow Machine in New Zealand, along with Middle Kids, LadyHawke and Drax Project,” says Snow Machine director Quentin Nolan.
“Every year we try to level up and make the adventure better than the last, from additional parties, adrenaline-fueled offerings, tabletop dancing en-piste and more right in the heart of Queenstown. It really is an adventure holiday and music festival all rolled into one.”
For those pursuing the adventure, there are unlimited ways to spike the adrenaline.
Whether it is soaring high above on a helicopter tour or weaving in and out of the clouds while sky diving, bungy jumping at Kawarau Bridge or jet boating at 90kmph on the icy blue glacial waters of the Shotover River, there are several activities for every adventure-seeker to book into for an added thrill throughout the Festival.
Amongst the mountains there will be plenty of parties and side events to take the fun even further. Stay tuned to the Snow Machine socials for details.
