A development by R-DEV Limited and co-founded by Tomas Radvansky and Iveta Radvanska, has launched an innovative mobile application called “Backyard Hunt,” designed to turn any backyard into a adventure playground.
The app allows families to experience interactive and engaging hunts right from the comfort of their homes, aiming to make every personal space a potential site for adventure.
The company currently focuses on enriching home-based entertainment by introducing a game that encourages exploration and play in familiar environments.
Iveta says “At present, Backyard Hunt is primarily focused on enriching personal and at-home experiences, providing families with a fun, interactive way to explore their immediate environments.”
However, new developments are also on the cards and Iveta says “The development of a party activity package and a boxed version of the game is also underway. These versions will include silicone QR codes and themed hunts, designed to enhance user engagement and provide a more tangible experience. “We believe these additions will add significant value for our users.”
While the primary focus of Backyard Hunt is to provide home-based entertainment, Iveta says there are plans to expand the scope of the adventures it offers. “We also have plans to engage with our local community in Mangawhai with some specialised local hunts.” she says.
However, expanding into regional hunts and the broader domain of urban exploring in partnership with tourism sectors is a more complex ambition.
“Expanding into regional hunts and tourism is a larger venture that, while certainly intriguing, would require collaboration and outreach from venues and interested parties themselves.” says Iveta.
As a small company, Iveta and Tomas are currently focusing on sustainable growth.
“As a small team funded entirely out of pocket and dedicated to raising three young children, we are currently focusing our resources on areas where we can manage growth sustainably.” says Iveta.
However, Iveta says the potential for growth in the future is on the horizon.
“We are open to exploring potential expansions into public venues and touristic spots if there is substantial interest and logistical support from external partners.”
