Sydney-based tourism marketing agency, Global Tourism Solutions has been appointed by Travel Manitoba in central Canada as their new general sales assistant to execute travel trade and media relations initiatives in the two markets.
Supporting the brand: Manitoba, Canada’s Heart is Calling, GTS will work with the team at Travel Manitoba to explore different ways a traveller’s heart responds to the experiences offered within the province. The marketing focus will stem around how a trip to Manitoba will get one’s heart beating, through its diverse offering of tourism experiences.
Together with GTS, Travel Manitoba will be focusing on their key experience pillars to lure Australian and New Zealand travellers in visitation. These pillars include wildlife viewing with the polar bears and beluga whales of Churchill, northern lights viewing also in Churchill, as well as urban culture and winter exploration of Winnipeg, the gateway city to the province.

GTS has an in-depth knowledge of the travel and lifestyle market, currently representing Destination British Columbia in the Australian and New Zealand markets.
The account team leading the Travel Manitoba brand will see director Joanne Motta heading up travel trade and consumer marketing and contractor Lizzie Doyle, who also represents the Canadian Rockies, British Columbia and the Northwest Territories in Canada, leading media relations. There will also be crossover connectivity in both leadership roles, that will see further partnerships formed and leveraged across many channels of the marketing mix.
Commencing this month, GTS will be focusing on supporting Manitoba prepare for Destination Canada’s Rendezvous Canada event, held in Edmonton, Alberta.
Manitoba itself will play host to the global tourism event in 2025. Additionally, the team will guide travel trade partnerships and several media visits already in progress to feature polar bears, beluga whales and northern lights.
