Tickets are now on sale for the iconic World of Wearable Art (WOW) VIP Train experience 2024 departing from Christchurch.
Operated by Great Journeys New Zealand, the VIP experience enhances the WOW factor where customers will see scenic wonders, taste local cuisine and be entertained on board Coastal Pacific departing Christchurch as they travel to the WOW Show in Wellington.
As well as a two-night package including accommodation, ‘A Reserve’ excellent seat tickets to the 2024 WOW Show and a return flight to their place of origin, guests will be treated to a red-carpet welcome when boarding the train, along with a goody bag and an exclusive WOW-inspired menu.
An exciting extension to the WOW packages, the South Island is joining the WOW Train action this year. Incorporating the Coastal Pacific train and Interislander ferry VIP experience, all customers on board the 4 October service will be hosted along with fellow WOW Train passengers.
General manager Great Journeys New Zealand and Commuter Tracey Goodall welcomes the second WOW package.
“Encouraging South Islanders to travel on Coastal Pacific and Interislander creates a full WOW experience. The Friday departure date aims to persuade customers to have a weekend away and immerse themselves in the Wellington culture. We encourage customers to be in quick as the WOW Train departing from Auckland on October 10 is sold out.
“As a major partner of WOW, we proudly support this unique event and are excited to help make the experience memorable for our customers.”
The WOW 2023 event, held over three weeks in September and October attracted an audience of almost 60,000 people.
One fan said: “It was well worth taking the WOW Train. Lots of amazing scenery, incredible WOW garments, fabulous goody bag. Bucket list trip and would do it again!”
WellingtonNZ general manager of events and experience Heidi Morton says WOW is a highlight on the Wellington major events calendar.
“You always know when the WOW season is in full swing – there’s a certain vibrancy in the city that comes as a result of so many people coming to Wellington to see the shows. WOW not only has a huge economic impact on the city, it is also at the forefront of cementing Wellington’s reputation as a creative, thriving capital capable of putting on world class events.”
Last year’s show contributed more than $30 million to the Wellington region, with 60 per cent of ticket holders visiting Wellington to see the show.
“That is a phenomenal outcome and underlines the value to Wellington in hosting major events.”
The WOW Train VIP Experience packages departing Auckland and Christchurch are now available to customers and agents to book via the Great Journeys New Zealand Travel Centre. Limited seats are available. The packages can be customised to add extra accommodation and inclusions.
