Cordis, Auckland has announces a leadership transition, with the promotion of Craig Bonnor to managing director, effective April 8, 2024.
Craig will succeed Franz Mascarenhas, a distinguished hotelier who contributed significantly to Auckland’s hospitality industry over the past 11 years.
Craig brings more than 30 years of experience in rooms division, business development and general management. He has spent time in properties across Japan, Thailand and Australia, working for brands including Hilton and Carlton Hotels.
He has been a general manager with the Hilton group for more than 12 years, and until last year, has been managing the Hilton, Petaling Jaya in Malaysia, a 547 room hotel with sizable event spaces and specialty food and beverage venues. Craig has been in the role of general manager at Cordis, Auckland since December last year.
“I am incredibly honoured to take on the role of Managing Director at Cordis, Auckland,” says Craig. “I am grateful for the opportunity to lead this exceptional team and build upon the very strong foundation established by Franz. I am committed to continuing to deliver exceptional, heartfelt, service to our guests, fostering a positive work environment for our employees, and driving further success for the hotel.”
Whilst stepping back from the managing director role, Franz will continue on part time, as an advisor to Cordis, Auckland supporting and continuing to contribute to the success of the hotel, whilst also supporting LHG’s development goal of expanding the company’s brand footprint in New Zealand.
