The Christchurch Adventure Park will reopen to the public on Friday, March 22, following the impact of the Port Hills fires that forced its closure on February 14.
All facilities, trails and infrastructure have now been assessed and safety checked.
“We are busy in the Park, tidying trails and putting the chairs back onto the lift line in preparation for reopening again,” says general manager Anne Newman.
“The chairlift has already passed its inspections as have the zipline cables and, pleasingly, almost all of our downhill mountain bike trails are unaffected by the fires; so we are very fortunate that we will be able to reopen with pretty much all attractions back on offer.
“It is awesome that we will be open in time for Easter weekend and then the April school holidays. We cannot wait to see the Park buzzing with activity again and we are so grateful to the emergency response crews and to our own team for the incredible work they have done to make that possible,” she says.
“We are also well advanced in securing some exciting new attractions for the Park that will be launching later in the year, so it is an exciting year ahead for CAP.”
