It’s business up front, party in the back at Wellington Airport this Friday with free mullets being given away to lucky travellers.
The airport is providing professional barbers in the terminal to support “The Mullet Matters” campaign by the Mental Health Foundation, raising funds to provide vital mental health resources to those in need.
Every 30 cents raised delivers a mental health resource to someone in need. The nationwide goal of $300,000 will help the Mental Health Foundation deliver one million resources to schools, workplaces, healthcare centres, and communities – free of charge, all year round.
Participants can register as a team or individual at themulletmatters.co.nz and then fundraise towards a target.
Wellington Airport’s sustainability manager Georgina Blane will be among those receiving a free mullet this Friday.
“It doesn’t matter where you are travelling via the airport, be it a wedding, holiday or job interview – there is a mullet to suit any occasion,” she says.
“If a mullet is good enough for Miley Cyrus and Dave Dobbyn, then it’s good enough for me and for a great cause. Be a legend and rock a mullet!”
Barbers will be in the terminal on Friday, March 1, from 8am to 5pm and there will be spot prizes and giveaways on the day.
There will also be information and resources from the Mental Health Foundation, raising awareness of the campaign and encouraging donations along with creating some legendary mullets.
