In an unconventional move, RotoruaNZ is formally inviting AM SHOW hosts Ryan Bridge and Melissa Chan-Green to Rotorua, in the form of a billboard blitz to more than 75 billboards across the North Island, on Monday, December 11.
“Rotorua really wanted to make sure that we got the message to them anyway we could and we were extremely fortunate to have had a great partner in Go Media whose generosity helped to make this happen,” says RotoruaNZ chief executive Andrew Wilson.
“We’re thrilled to be supporting RotoruaNZ by using our digital billboard network to creatively promote the excitement of Rotorua. As a medium you can’t turn off, scroll past or mute, we have no doubt the billboard blitz will capture attention,” says Go Media CEO Mike Gray.
The invitation to Ryan and Melissa follows on from recent interactions with the AM Show and the revelation that Ryan’s bucket list activity was to go whitewater rafting in Rotorua.
“During one of the AM Show interviews, our brand and marketing manager Haydn Marriner invited the show’s hosts to Rotorua to experience our amazing geothermal wonderland and world-class manaakitanga,” says Andrew.
“Rotorua has the best rafting in New Zealand, and is the spa and wellness sanctuary of Aotearoa, and whilst we’re pretty certain they’ll accept the offer, we thought a billboard blitz would really get their attention.”
Rotorua is a destination that has seen an unprecedented amount of award recognition both domestically and internationally, being recognised earlier in the year by Forbes as one of the top 50 global destinations, and recently by Booking.com as one of the world’s top 10 trending places to visit.
This is on top of domestic and local awards for design, tourism delivery, and innovation. With tonnes of awesome activities and things to do, Rotorua is over-indexing on awesome this summer and will be the place where they are guaranteeing your best summer ever.
“We hope that Aotearoa will see these invitations to Ryan and Melissa and imagine it’s their giant heads on the billboards having the amazing time in Rotorua, either rafting or relaxing in one of our amazing spa facilities,” says Andrew.
“Now is a great time to come and visit us in Rotorua to have the best summer ever.”
