People from a vast array of industries and disciplines work on human experiences – but they don’t always connect with each other.
If this sounds familiar, then the upcoming 7 Experiences Summit might be for you.
The four-day summit is coming to Aotearoa from November 28 – December 1, hosted by AUT and its School of Hospitality and Tourism.
The summit brings experience professionals and academics from around the world together to stimulate thought and insights on sustainable and transformative experience design.
“There are many people who design experiences that might not consider themselves ‘experience designers’, from event producers to artists, engineers, brand managers, computer scientists, architects, place makers, urban planners, educators and many more,” says AUT’s Dr Sandra Goh, co-organiser of the summit.
“We extend them all a warm invitation to connect with people from different industries and our international keynote speakers and presenters, as we unravel answers and explore opportunities presented by the experience and transformational economies.
“Enjoy a smorgasbord of topics and different types of experiences related to design, architecture, placemaking, hospitality, tourism, culinary, events, education, food and more as you soak in our speakers, workshops and research sessions.”
The provisional programme for the 7 Experiences Summit has now been released. It includes expert speakers on a variety of topics, workshops, research presentations, a hackathon, and seven exceptional social experiences.
Workshops at the summit include using AI to design a theme park in one hour, personalised fragrance design, as well as sensory experiences and food.
Keynote speaker topics include insights from Auckland’s first HyperCinema, inclusive and accessible experiences, and putting customer experience data to good use.
Research sessions include designing experiences for LGBTQ+, luxury accommodation experience, telepresence experience and more.
The seven social experiences include everything from a whale and dolphin safari, a tour of Giapo ice cream tour to a visit to Ōrākei Marae.
Attending the 7 Experiences Summit costs between $290 and $850.
