Air New Zealand takes home win at FTE APEX Asia Expo 2023

The recent FTE APEX Asia Expo 2023 in Singapore, was a celebratory event for the aviation industry, honouring the best in airline services across Central/Southern Asia, Eastern Asia, Greater China, and the South Pacific.

The Airline Passenger Experience Association (APEX) presented the 2024 Best In Airline Awards, recognizing airlines for outstanding achievements in Cabin Service, Entertainment, Food and Beverage, Seat Comfort, and Wi-Fi.

From the APEX Pressroom release, the airlines were praised for their dedication to service excellence and innovative efforts in enhancing the passenger experience. “These proud air carriers stand at the forefront of the industry.” says Dr. Joe Leader, Group chief executive officer of APEX, IFSA, and FTE.

The awards were based on extensive passenger feedback, collected anonymously via TripIt® from Concur®, the world’s top-rated travel-organising app. Over one million verified flights from more than 600 global airlines were rated using a five-star scale, offering passengers a quick and straightforward way to rate their flight experiences.

The 2024 APEX Best In honours celebrated at the expo highlighted exceptional airlines in various categories:

Central/Southern Asia: Vistara was named the Best Overall Airline, with Air Astana winning Best Entertainment and Cabin Service. SriLankan Airlines was recognized for Best Wi-Fi, Air India for Best Food & Beverage, and IndiGo for Best Seat Comfort.

Eastern Asia: Singapore Airlines emerged as the Best Overall Airline, ANA took home Best Entertainment and Cabin Service, Japan Airlines for Best Wi-Fi, and Asiana Airlines for Best Food & Beverage.

Greater China: Xiamen Airlines was awarded the APEX World Class Airline in Greater China, with EVA Air as the Best Overall Airline. Cathay Pacific won Best Entertainment and Food & Beverage, China Southern for Best Cabin Service, China Airlines for Best Wi-Fi, and China Eastern for Best Seat Comfort.

South Pacific: Air New Zealand was crowned the Best Overall Airline, Fiji Airways for Best Entertainment and Seat Comfort, Rex Airlines for Best Cabin Service, Qantas for Best Wi-Fi, and Air Tahiti Nui for Best Food & Beverage.

Air New Zealand’s general manager Short Haul, Jeremy O’Brien says “We’re proud to represent our region, showcasing the best of Aotearoa food and beverage onboard and welcoming all of our customers with our unmatched Kiwi service. This award is recognition of the Manaaki demonstrated by our staff to our customers.”
