Kiwis flock to Paris ahead of the anticipated World Rugby Cup 2023

In the wake of the semi-final victory against Argentina, New Zealand rugby fans are riding a wave that wave of excitement all the way to Paris, as they scramble to secure their spots for the much-anticipated Rugby World Cup final this weekend.

The influx of flight bookings and online searches has been nothing short of impressive, highlighting the immediate impact of the All Blacks’ victory on travel trends.

Flight Centre Travel Group NZ managing director Victoria Courtney says “Since we won the semi-final match against Argentina on Saturday, October 21, we have had a 65 percent increase in online searches for flights to Paris ahead of the final.”

Despite the increased demand, there are still seats available for those looking to make the last-minute journey to witness rugby history in the making. But, Victoria warns that these opportunities come with a hefty price tag.

“Fares  (through Flight Centre) range from ($NZD) $3000 to $5000 and could get even more expensive,” she says.

For Kiwis eager to be part of the action, get in quick.

Victoria says “Book quickly! If demand increases, we will see unavailability and you may miss out on this once in a lifetime event.”

She also encourages to “Chat to your local travel expert who can sort you out with flights, but can also book accommodation and transfers etc. for you, even while you’re in the air.”

As the countdown to the final continues, New Zealand rugby enthusiasts are proving that distance and dollars are no match for their passion for the game. With bags packed and spirits high, they are ready to descend upon Paris, transforming the City of Lights into a sea of black.
