BYATA Conference hosts stellar speakers line-up

The 12th annual Backpacker Youth Adventure Tourism Association Conference will be jam-packed full of inspirational speakers and stimulating conversation.

Held at Te Pae, Christchurch, over August 28-29, the BYATA Conference promises an unforgettable experience and offers the opportunity to engage with and learn more about NZ’s youth and adventure sector.

The theme for this year is ‘A profound rebound – finding solutions for long-term success’.

This year’s conference anticipates the participation of over 140 delegates representing more than 100 companies, including renowned industry leaders and Regional Tourism Offices from across the motu.

Speaker have been announced, with a stellar line-up of top industry professionals.

The speakers line- up includes Tourism NZ general manager Bjoern Spreitzer, creative agency Libby & Ben’s Ben Crawford, iFLY Indoor Skydiving Queenstown’s Matt Wong, LyLo and Jucy Rentals’ Tim Alpe, International Travel College of NZ key stakeholder manager Ceri Jenkins, and Tourism NZ marketing manager partnership Penelope Ryan.

Despite accounting for only 25 per cent of arrivals, the youth sector contributes 35 per cent of international spend, making it a vital component of Aotearoa’s tourism industry.

This year’s conference will focus on investigating, discussing and, hopefully, resolving the issues most important to the industry, including immigration, education, recruitment and retention, other socio-economic issues, adventure activity, and more.

Normal rates are $595+GST and $495+GST for additional delegates.

Rates include entry to the 12th Annual BYATA Conference with morning tea and lunch, an afternoon experiencing local and authentic experiences, entry into the pre-conference networking function on Sunday, August 27, and into BYATA’s official evening conference function held on Monday, August 28 with buffet dinner and a few drinks.
