In a spectacular night of wins for the global aviation industry, Fiji Airways rose above its larger competitors to take home three prestigious awards in the Australia / Pacific region at the World Airline Awards 2023.
The Fijian national airline was recognised as the Best Airline in Australia / Pacific, boasting Best Airline Staff Service and Best Airport Service in the region as well.
On the outstanding accolades, Fiji Airways’ managing director and chief executive officer Andre Viljoen says: “Our unwavering commitment to quality service delivery is the reason that Fiji Airways is today the Best in Australia and the Pacific”.
“We may not have as much resources as larger airlines, but we have the Fijian spirit of hospitality and care.”
The awards ceremony held in Paris, France, saw a high level delegation from Fiji Airways, who received the awards on behalf of the company.
“I want to congratulate all the employees of Fiji Airways for these two awards for without their hard work and consistency, we would not be where we are today,” Andre says.
“The fact that these awards are determined purely on guest feedback makes our two accolades all the more special. Our customers have consciously chosen Fiji Airways above all the other participating airlines in the region.”
Other winners on the night included Qatar Airways, who won World’s Best Airline, while Emirates took the award for World’s Best Inflight Entertainment. The World’s Best Low-Cost Airline award went to AirAsia, while ANA All Nippon Airways took home the award for Best Airline Cabin Cleanliness.
Despite not nabbing an award on the evening, Air New Zealand retained its place at the top of the Kantar Corporate Reputation Index for the ninth consecutive year.
Although different metrics are at play, there’s no doubt this recognition is a testament to their consistency in delivering quality service to their passengers.
Yet, it’s the Fijian spirit that truly won the night.
Fiji Airways’ big wins on a grand stage serve as a powerful reminder of how dedication, commitment to service, and a spirit of hospitality can triumph in a highly competitive industry. These wins are indeed a major feather in the cap of this relatively small airline.
With such a powerful endorsement from passengers, the sky is the limit for Fiji Airways.
