New interim chair for BYATA

The Backpacker Youth & Adventure Tourism Association has recently announced an interim chief executive, who the organisation says will lead them in establishing iniatives and driving growth in the youth tourism sector.
RotoruaNZ brand and marketing manager Haydn Marriner stepped into the interim role this week, and brings with him a wealth of expertise and a passion for youth tourism.

Haydn will lead BYATA with dynamic vision, ensuring continued growth, promotion, collaboration, and sustainability within the youth tourism industry.
The association has farewelled outgoing chair Chris Sperring, whose exceptional leadership and unwavering commitment to youth tourism have left an enduring legacy at BYATA.
Throughout Chris’ tenure, BYATA has championed youth tourism with determination, acting as a vocal advocate and catalyst for change. With a natural ability to inspire and motivate, Chris has led BYATA through significant milestones.
The organisation expresses deep gratitude to Chris for his visionary leadership, unwavering dedication, and remarkable contributions.
The final board meeting held on Friday, June 16, was a bittersweet occasion as members gathered to convey their appreciation and bid Chris farewell.
The association says they are immensely grateful to Chris for his invaluable contributions and eagerly anticipates an exciting new chapter under the guidance of the new interim chair.
