The Bus and Coach Association is pleased to announce it has appointed Delaney Myers as its new chief executive.
Delaney is currently the public transport manager at Waka Kotahi and well known to the industry through this role and her previous School Transport roles at the Ministry of Education.
“I am joining the BCA at a time of considerable change in the industry and am excited by the challenges this presents,” she says.
“A strong and united industry will be critical to bus operators’ future success, and I’m very much looking forward to being part of that.”
Incoming BCA chair Grant Lilly says he was impressed by the calibre of candidates who applied for the position and is delighted BCA has been able to appoint Delaney.
“Delaney comes to us strongly recommended by others in the industry and was a standout candidate throughout the recruitment process,” says Grant.
BCA has recently implemented a range of organisational changes – appointing an independent chair and electing a new business board replacing the representative council, president, and vice president.
The smaller more focussed Board structure will help make BCA more responsive to members’ issues, advocating strongly on their behalf to help create a more efficient and sustainable passenger transport industry.
Delaney starts with BCA on July 3.
