Hashtags like #greekislands, #greecetravel and #santorini have racked up a combined 1.8M views in New Zealand on the social media site in the past four months.
New research from Webjet shows that Kiwis are making these dreams a reality, with a dramatic 200 per cent uptick in bookings to Athens this EU summer season compared to the same travel and booking periods in 2022.
The Webjet data shows has been a percentage increase in bookings for flights to Athens from New Zealand during the booking period of December 1, 2022, to April 10, 2023, for travel between June 1, 2023, to August 31, 2023, compared toDecember 1, 2021, to April 10, 2022, for travel between June 1, 2022, to August 31, 2022, which is 200 per cent.
