Like a number of airports across the world, Christchurch Airport is hosting a Job Fair, to help more than 20 employers on campus fill hundreds of vacancies.
With travel rapidly increasing after the disruptions of the previous two years, the need exists for more staff across the many businesses that keep the airport running smoothly.
On Saturday, August 27, more than 250 jobs will be on offer in companies including airline, border agencies, hospitality, retail and rental cars. The aim is to connect people directly with employees at a one day hiring event to give people the opportunity to see and hear what roles are available.
Chief aeronautical and commercial officer Justin Watson says there’s a lot of great opportunities across the campus.
"There are more than 250 different companies employing more than 6000 people on the airport, so there’s plenty of opportunities to consider,” he says.
"Whether someone likes to meet lots of people face to face, or work behind the scenes to keep things moving, there is a range of roles available right now.
“People working on the airport will tell you it’s an exciting place to work. Lots of people do lots of tasks which combine to make important things happen here. Many people here say the airport is never dull and they are proud that what they do makes a difference every day."
People keen to claim a job at the airport can find more information here and will need to register to be in the mix.
