Young Tourism Export Council, a subsidiary of the Tourism Export Council of New Zealand open to tourism professionals and TECNZ member employees aged 18 to 36, is celebrating 10 years of supporting the international tourism sector this year.
In 2012, YoungTEC formally launched into action with 25 members. By 2013, six branches had been formed in Auckland, Rotorua, Christchurch, Top of the South Island, Christchurch and Queenstown.
“It is very exciting for us to look back on the development of YTEC over the past ten years and to see the range of jobs/roles YTEC members have had and where their professional development has taken them,” says YTEC chair Charlotte Brady.
“We look forward to sharing YTEC’s journey at the Achievement Awards dinner in Nelson with the rest of the industry.”
YoungTEC’s mission is to enhance our tourism export industry by developing future leaders.
Members are offered regular networking events, educational workshops, a mentoring and development programme, and invaluable, up-to-date industry knowledge.
At the TECNZ conference Achievement Awards dinner on Wednesday, August 10, in Nelson, attendees will look back on the journey of how YTEC began and the critical role it plays in the international tourism sector and the YTEC team will thank the many mentors who have supported the industry’s future leadership program.
