Energy and atmosphere with B&B roadshow in full swing

The Creating Connections Roadshow 2022 is in full swing with six stops still to come on the tour.

B&B operators have been gathering across Aotearoa New Zealand to create connections within the hosted accommodation community, meeting in person for the first time since 2020.

The Bed & Breakfast Association teamed up with digital marketing company and association sponsor Tomahawk to provide opportunities for upskilling and networking to hosted accommodation providers in their own regions.

“It’s been so useful to update ourselves in the digital arena and Tomahawk is setting just the right pace for us all,” says B&B Association president Donna Brooke. “The energy and atmosphere in the room has been elevated at every workshop. People ready to learn, ready to connect and ready to share their experiences—it is all so focused and rewarding!”

Donna says there has been a fantastic response from Regional Tourism Organisations around the country and it has been great for hosted accommodation businesses to meet face to face with their local RTO.  “I’ve loved seeing the direct dialogue between attendees and the presenters from the RTOs. It seems to be a mutually beneficial time.”

Tourism New Zealand general manager New Zealand and business events Bjoern Spreitzer has been offering the groups valuable insights on where Tourism New Zealand is heading with special relevance to the hosted accommodation sector.

Pat Hosking of Maddison’s Garden Homestay attended the Auckland Roadshow. “It was a great day packed full of information and tips. Renee Goodsell from Tomahawk is a wealth of knowledge and so helpful and patient with those of us not entirely savvy with technology.

“I encourage everyone, regardless of the size of your business, to take advantage of the Roadshow when it comes to your region. It is time well spent and a definite bonus to meet and chat with others from your own area.”

The Creating Connections Roadshow will reach six more locations around New Zealand in the coming weeks. For more details and to register, click here.
