EVENT Hospitality and Entertainment were recognized for their excellence in the hospitality industry with three wins and three finalist placings at the 2019 Hospitality New Zealand awards in Napier last night.
QT Wellington blazed home, winning both the Best Redeveloped Hotel and Excellence in Marketing awards for the exquisite Gallery 4 rooms.
QT Hotels are famous for celebrating individuality in a world less conventional and in line with QT Wellington’s illustrious art background, the hotel launched a campaign challenging the local creative community to create in-room artworks adorning the walls of nine brand new rooms.
The campaign was so successful that all 25 rooms on Level 4 of the hotel became canvases for 19 artists to showcase their unique artworks.
Rydges Wellington also celebrated a win, with duty manager Sam Von Hartitzsch recognized as the 2019 Emerging Accommodation Professional. Sam is also intimately involved with the company’s nominated charity programme, Stretch, which is a testament to his character. He is known for his strong leadership skills, determination and commitment to the Hospitality sector.
Two Rydges restaurants were also named as finalists in the Best Restaurant category; Bloody Mary’s at Rydges Latimer Christchurch and Portlander Bar and Grill at Rydges Wellington. The Thorndon Hotel Wellington by Rydges was also recognized as a finalist in the Best Redeveloped Hotel category.
