Inspirational speakers line up for CINZ Conference 2019 in Queenstown


Four more speakers have been announced for the 43rd Conventions and Incentives New Zealand (CINZ) annual conference to be held in Queenstown later this month.

CINZ chief executive, Sue Sullivan says psychologist Nigel Latta, economist Shamubeel Eaqub, paralympian Liam Malone and management strategist Tony Gardner will join a group of 25 influential keynote, panel and workshop presenters to explore the conference theme, ‘Inspiring New Thinking’.

“Across two days we will be covering all the areas where new thinking is key to success — sustainability practices, resilience, social impact and legacy, international trends and leadership skills,” she says.

Economist and financial analyst, Shamubeel Eaqub will look at sustainability and examine the new thinking needed to create sustainable growth for New Zealand’s visitor economy and business events sector.

Well-known psychologist, TV documentary host and author Nigel Latta, sponsored by Celebrity Speakers, will cover new thinking in all facets of life, including how to adopt new habits and new trends at work.

CINZ board chair, Tony Gardner is managing partner at Catapult Auckland; a management consultancy company specialising in organisational strategy, high performing teams and leadership development.

He will speak about what it takes to be a great leader and what kinds of new and inspired thinking is required for these times. His workshop will then offer a deep dive into the key leadership challenges today.

Liam Malone, young New Zealand paralympian and the world’s number one bladerunner, will tell the inspirational story of his rise to achieving two Golds and a Silver medal at the 2016 Paralympic Games.

More than 140 CINZ members including owners and managers of key venues, catering companies, accommodation providers, activity operators and regional convention bureaux will meet on October 30-31 at Skyline Queenstown.They will be welcomed on October 29 to a special function hosted at Gibbston Valley Winery, and farewelled on October 31 with a gala dinner at Walter Peak High Country farm.

“Many of our delegates will make the most of the long weekend prior to our conference to explore Queenstown and the surrounding Central Otago and Southern Lakes region. This is an opportunity for our busy event professionals to immerse themselves in the experiences and take in the adrenalin, relaxation, food and wine unique to this region,” she says.
